Tesla Unlocks Free Supercharging Across Europe In 10-Year Anniversary Celebration

Tesla Inc TSLA is offering free supercharging to all EVs in Europe today.

The offer extends to all supercharger locations in the continent, including those open to rival EV makers, and commemorates the 10th anniversary of the first six supercharger stations opening in Norway.

“Now, our network spans 36 countries, 1000+ sites & 13k+ Supercharger posts—enabling freedom of travel, no matter your destination,” Tesla’s Europe handle wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

About 70% of Tesla’s supercharger network in Europe is open to all EVs.

Why It Matters: Tesla’s supercharger network was first unveiled in September 2012. The EV giant currently has roughly 50,000 connectors in over 5,000 locations, as per CEO Elon Musk‘s update during the company’s second-quarter earnings call last month.

Several American and European automakers, including Ford Motor Co, General Motors, Mercedes Benz Group, and others have announced a collaboration with Tesla to integrate its charging standard and gain access to Tesla’s charging network.

In Europe alone, Tesla crossed 10,000 supercharger posts in October last year.
