JetBlue Spreads Its Wings: Non-Stop New York To Amsterdam Flights Take Off

JetBlue Airways Corp JBLU disclosed a new daily non-stop flight from New York to Amsterdam to boost its presence in the transatlantic region.

The company introduced flights between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), starting today, with flights operating daily on A321 Long Range (LR) aircraft. 

As an introductory offer, JetBlue offered limited roundtrip fares for U.S.-originating and Netherlands-originating travelers.

"JetBlue's transatlantic service has proven to lower fares and benefit customers in markets that have suffered for decades from high fares by legacy carriers. We look forward to introducing our award-winning Mint and core service to business and leisure customers traveling to and from Amsterdam," said Robin Hayes, CEO.

The move follows the airline's successful launch of London flights in August 2021 and Paris in June 2023.

The company also plans to launch new flights from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Amsterdam on September 20. 

Last week, JetBlue launched its eighth Gateway development program to help U.S. military-trained rotary-wing aviators transition their expertise as helicopter pilots and acquire the necessary skills and certifications to join JetBlue as a first officer.

As of June 30, 2023, JBLU held $1.8 billion in cash and cash equivalents.
