EV giant Tesla Inc TSLA is holding Electric Summer events in Europe to commemorate 10 years of installing the first superchargers in the continent.
The event will include drives along scenic routes across Europe, drive-in cinemas or even family activities and is open to everyone. In Norway, where Tesla had put up the first six supercharging stations, the company will host an anniversary party this Friday at NOVA Spektrum convention center in Lillestrøm.
“Experience a journey through Tesla’s history, car exhibition, arcade, various activities for children, food service, DJ and much more,” Tesla wrote on its website. However, seats are limited and attendance requires registration on the website.
In Berlin, the site of Tesla’s only Gigafactory in the continent, one can attend the Tesla display event at Green World Tour over the weekend and exploit the opportunity to learn more about the vehicles. One can also take a Tesla test drive at IFA Berlin trade show from Friday until Tuesday or be part of any of the several events planned.
Why It Matters: On Tuesday, Tesla announced free supercharging to all EVs in Europe to mark the anniversary.
Tesla's supercharger network was first unveiled around the globe in September 2012. The EV giant currently has roughly 50,000 connectors in over 5,000 locations, as per CEO Elon Musk‘s update during the company's second-quarter earnings call last month.
In Europe alone, Tesla crossed 10,000 supercharger posts in October last year.
