Walt Disney Company DIS shares are trading lower Friday. The stock is down more than 27% over the last year.

Shares of several media stocks, including Disney, are trading lower amid an ongoing pricing dispute between Disney and Charter Communications CHTR, which resulted in some Disney-owned channels going dark for Spectrum subscribers this week.

Shares of DIS are down over 3% on heavy trading volume Friday. According to data from Benzinga Pro, more than 13.8 million shares have already been traded in the session, compared to the stock's 100-day average of 15.281 million shares.

In August, Disney+ announced that an ad-supported streaming option will be available in select markets across Europe and in Canada beginning Nov. 1, and subscribers in the U.S. will have access to an ad-free bundled subscription plan, starting Sept. 6, featuring Disney+ Premium and Hulu for $19.99 per month.
