  • Hilton reported a significant increase in the number of travelers searching for hotels with charging connectors.
  • The company will now offer these charging options at popular travel destinations.

Tesla Inc TSLA has inked a significant deal to install up to 20,000 Universal Wall Connectors across 2,000 Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. HLT locations.

As shared by Electrek, this partnership builds upon the existing collaboration between Hilton and Tesla, which previously involved the installation of Tesla Level 2 chargers — also known as Tesla Wall Connectors — at Hilton properties worldwide.

The latest expansion of the agreement solidifies Hilton's position as a leader in electric vehicle (EV) charging within the hospitality industry.

Starting in early 2024, these Tesla Universal Wall Connectors are set to be deployed in Hilton hotels across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. These chargers are designed to support a wide range of EVs, including Tesla's own models and those from other manufacturers that use the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

Hilton's initiative aims to establish the most extensive EV charging network of any hospitality company, with a minimum of six chargers planned for each selected hotel.

The key to this partnership's success is Tesla's Universal Wall Connector, a level 2 charger equipped with a NACS connector for Tesla vehicles and a J1772 adapter for broader compatibility.

By offering these charging options at popular travel destinations, both companies are contributing to the growth of EV adoption and improving the overall charging experience.

Hilton reported a significant increase in the number of travelers searching for hotels with charging connectors, reinforcing the importance of accessible EV infrastructure for the modern traveler.
