Elon Musk's goal of turning X (formerly Twitter) into the "everything app" is one step closer to realization – X has implemented the job cards feature to take on Microsoft Corp.-owned MSFT LinkedIn.

What Happened: Musk called LinkedIn profiles "cringe" and revealed that X is working on a "cool" competitor instead. Two weeks later, X has already rolled out the Job Cards feature that lets employers find employees directly on the platform.

X' Job Cards feature is currently available on the web and iOS. It allows users to post the job's key requirements, like the roles, whether full-time or part-time, the location details, and a few other key details of the job on offer.

Clicking on the card takes users to an Airtable page with a form to fill in details like the team preference and job role, personal details, resume or CV, and more.

X is hiring across multiple teams, and interestingly enough, despite Musk's disdain for LinkedIn, the job form allows applicants to enter their LinkedIn profile details.

Why It Matters: Musk has been talking about making X the ‘Everything App', covering a range of features like payments, audio and video calling, and shopping, apart from the usual social media content.

Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino have been touting the explosive growth in video views on X – Yaccarino revealed that video views have grown 465% in the past ten days in the run-up to the New York Fashion Week.

With X users now able to look and apply for jobs on the social media platform, the company has made some progress towards achieving its "everything app" goal.
