Ironically branded as a part of Google's "Privacy Sandbox", these targeted ads will share your information with third parties while "preserving privacy", says Google.
Unsurprisingly, not everyone will be thrilled about seeing targeted advertisements. Thankfully, it is possible to disable Chrome's new targeted ad-tracking features.
How To Disable Google Chrome's Targeted Ad Tracking
Make sure you are on the latest version of Google Chrome. You can check this by clicking the three-dot button on the top right, then Help, and About Google Chrome.
Now that it's done, it's time to disable Chrome's targeted ad tracking.
- Click the three-dot button on the top right of the Google Chrome browser.
- Now go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Ad privacy.
- You will now see three options – Ad topics, Site-suggested ads, and Ad measurement.
- Click on each one of them and turn the toggle off.
That's it – you have now disabled Google Chrome's targeted ad tracking.
