Ric Flair’s new Woooo! Energy Drink is now the exclusive power drink of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ohio fans are already getting pumped up.
Flair is expected to be in the Cleveland area next week to promote his non-psychedelic mushroom-based beverage and its new partnership with the Cavs.
"They love Ric," said Chad Bronstein, chair and president of Carma HoldCo. "Ric’s going to be a part of pumping up the crowd. We have a Wooooo! Energy meter, a bunch of stuff throughout Quicken Loans Arena.
"For us, the Cavs make sense because it’s all throughout Ohio. There’s no other basketball team. If you’re in Columbus or Cincinnati, you’re probably rooting for the Cavs," added Bronstein who is from North East Ohio.
The WWE Hall of Famer, who along with Bronstein and their pal Mike Tyson attended last September’s Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference in Chicago, will launch Wooooo! Energy Drink at various local supermarkets.
Flair reflected on how Cleveland has embraced him over the years.
"Great wrestling town, really supportive," Flair said, per Fox News.
"The Flats in the ‘80s were unbelievable. All the boats pulled up. Great area. There was a place called Duke’s at the Marriott by the airport. Lot of great stories about Cleveland."
Partnership With The Cavs And Memories Of LeBron James
Flair is a huge fan of Cleveland’s LeBron - yes, Ohioans still claim him as their own though he no longer plays for the Cavs. Flair says he remembers when LeBron came to wrestling events as a kid.
"He was like 17 years old when he came to the matches, and he had just been on the cover of Sports Illustrated," said Flair. "I think he was a junior in high school. He had about 10 kids with him, and they all sat front row. He was a big wrestling fan."
Wooooo! Is Everywhere
Flair’s infectious enthusiasm is not limited to wrestling matches and other sports events to get the crowds cheering. At last year’s Benzinga Cannabis Capital Conference, Nature Boy pumped up the crowd in the packed room at Chicago's iconic Palmer House Hotel when he and Tyson lit up several joints on stage and passed them around to the seemingly delighted panel.
