Ford Trying To Steal Apple's Thunder? CEO Farley Teases New F-150 Offering Alongside iPhone 15 Launch

Ford Motor Co F CEO Jim Farley on Monday teased the unveiling of its new 2024 F-150 vehicle.

What Happened: “Tomorrow is a big day for America's two biggest consumer products: The latest versions of the Apple iPhone & the Ford F-150 from our F-Series lineup will be revealed,” Farley wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “We can't wait to show you the F-150 reveal live on Ford's YouTube starting at 8 pm!” he added

The new Ford F-150 will be unveiled on Tuesday at 8 P.M. ET from Downtown Detroit. The unveiling will be streamed live on YouTube.

While the company has yet to detail the specifications of the new vehicle, sightings of the F-150 prior to unveiling have the users awaiting some changes to the vehicle’s exterior and speculating possible changes to the interior.

Over the weekend, Ford shared several pictures of the truck on a farm with the caption, “Tough, smart, and ready to do more than ever.”

Farley has previously said that the company makes trucks for real people who do real work and the images reflect the idea.

Why It Matters: The F series, of which the F-150 is a part, is responsible for Ford’s continued popularity in the American market. In 2022, at least one F-series truck was sold every 49 seconds with total F-series sales surpassing 640,000 units.

Apple Inc‘s AAPL ‘Wonderlust’ event is scheduled to happen at 10 a.m. PT or 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday and will be live-streamed on YouTube as well from the tech giant’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
