Russian President Is So Paranoid That Armed Divers Scour His Private Beach For Potential Assassins, Ex-Security Officer Reveals

Russian President Vladimir Putin has armed divers searching for potential assassins around his private beaches and are deliberately fed false information, as per a defected ex-security officer, Business Insider reported.

Vitaly Brizhaty, a former member of Putin’s protection service, detailed these measures in an interview with an independent Russian media outlet TV Rain.

Brizhaty, who previously served in the Federal Protection Service, fled Russia for Ecuador following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He further revealed that Putin’s fear of assassination is so great that one of his bodyguards operates as a washerman at a palace in Russian-occupied Crimea.

The ex-security officer, who was stationed at one of Putin’s secretive properties in Crimea, referred to the palace as a “fantasy place” and “mini-city”. He added that Putin often misinforms his own guards about his location and arrival plans in Crimea.

“People were told, ‘he’s resting at the dacha’ and everybody is running around guarding him, but he could be in another place altogether,” Brizhaty shared with TV Rain.
