Apple Claims iPhone 15 Pro As The 'Next Generation of Mobile Gaming,' Featuring Assassin's Creed Mirage And More AAA Titles

Zinger Key Points
  • Apple introduced the iPhone 15 Pro with console-level gaming capabilities.
  • Concerns linger about its battery performance during demanding gameplay.

Apple Inc AAPL recently unveiled its new iPhone 15 series, featuring the iPhone 15 Pro, which has the ability to run modern AAA games.

"Phone 15 Pro offers smoother graphics, as well as more immersive AR applications and gaming experience," the company wrote in a press release.

"iPhone 15 Pro brings true-to-life gaming to the palm of users’ hands with console titles never before seen on a smartphone, like Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage," the company added.

During its Wonderlust event on Sept. 12, Apple introduced the new mobile phone series, as well as the A16 Bionic chip, featuring a five-core GPU with a 50% improvement in memory bandwidth and a six-core CPU that consumes 20% less power compared to its predecessor.

Apple positioned this as the "next generation of mobile gaming" and emphasized the presence of "hardware-accelerated ray tracing," a sophisticated lighting technique typically associated with high-end gaming PCs.

Another notable feature of the iPhone 15 Pro is the inclusion of a USB-C port, influenced by European regulations. Apple now offers a USB-C cable priced at $70.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models will be available starting at $999 and $1,199, respectively. They are set to be available in stores on Sept. 22.

It's worth noting that there are lingering questions about the device's battery performance when running these demanding games.
