Elon Musk's Starlink Satellite Launch Sparks UFO Fears In New Jersey

A recent launch of Elon Musk‘s Starlink satellites spurred UFO concerns among New Jersey residents, the New York Post reported.

Locals were startled on Saturday night when they observed several lights moving in a straight line across the sky, prompting speculations about potential extraterrestrial activity.

Social media platforms soon lit up with theories about alien objects, coincidentally following the latest series of congressional hearings on unidentified flying objects.

However, the mystery was soon resolved when SpaceX revealed that the lights were merely the latest batch of Starlink satellites, launched from Cape Canaveral, passing overhead.

This is not the first time Starlink satellites have caused confusion. Earlier this year, a study found a surge in UFO sightings since the onset of the pandemic was linked to SpaceX’s satellite launches.

Starlink, which launched its first set of satellites in May 2019, has over 3,000 satellites in orbit and plans to increase this number to over 10,000 by 2027.
