Trump Hopes For Mark Meadows' Loyalty Amid Racketeering Indictment

Former President Donald Trump has expressed hope that his former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, remains “loyal” to him, The New York Times reported.

Trump made this remark during an extensive interview with Kristen Welker in NBC's "Meet The Press." The former president and Meadows are among 19 co-defendants in the Fulton County indictment, which accuses them of conspiring to overturn Trump’s loss in Georgia during his re-election bid.

“Well, I hope he's loyal to me,” he said.

When further probed if he is worried about Meadows switching sides and “flipping,” Trump added, "I mean, I didn't do anything wrong.”

Legal experts suggest that prosecutors may encourage some defendants in the case to plead guilty and testify against others involved.

The remarks appear amid prosecutors requesting a limited gag order against Trump in response to his continuous attacks on the special counsel and the judicial system.

Throughout the interview, Trump maintained his unfounded claims about the 2020 election being stolen, despite facing indictments in Georgia and Washington.
