Mad Money Lightning Round: Cramer Prefers Baidu Over Google

In his "Mad Money Lightning Round" on Wednesday, Jim Cramer remarked that Ultra Petroleum UPL is a brilliant stock and the company has made a lot of money in the previous years. After rising 0.34% yesterday, Ultra Petroleum dropped 0.64% in the after-hours trading session. When asked about Vodafone Group VOD, Cramer said that he considers the dividend to be safe and that the company is growing. Shares of VOD rallied 1.52%, to $21.35, in yesterday’s trading session. Jim also commended Banco Santander STD for all the creative initiatives the company has taken to to lend strength to its business. “They've reinvented themselves and have become a very investable stock,” Cramer added. STD's shares gained 0.44%, to close at $11.3 yesterday. Cramer preferred Baidu.com BIDU over Google GOOG. He said that although Google was terrific, it still needed the China business. He recommended that investors should buy Baidu. BIDU surged 0.67%, to $76.19, in the last trading session, while shares of GOOG plunged 0.86%, to $482.05. Read more from Benzinga's Markets.
