Apple Watch has proven to be a lifesaver time and again, and once again, a user has revealed that Apple Inc.'s AAPL smartwatch has saved their life after they were involved in a highway car crash.
What Happened: Apple Watch's crash detection feature helped save another user's life today after they were involved in a highway car crash.
The user, /u/Unroll9752, posted on Reddit that their Apple Watch alerted their emergency contact and informed emergency services to rescue them.
The user was apparently involved in a car crash on an unnamed highway. The weather was inclement and raining, which resulted in the user losing control of their car.

To make matters worse, the user also lost consciousness, and since it is a highway and not a city road, there were likely fewer commuters.
"The Watch called 911, gave them my location and sent SOS messages to my parents," the user reported.
Apple's crash detection feature automatically sends the user's location data to their emergency contact as well as rescue services. It also updates the location so rescuers can accurately track and rescue the user.
"Never thought I would ever need that feature but yeah here I am," the user said.
This is not the first time an Apple Watch or an iPhone has saved users' lives. Earlier in July, there were multiple reports of iPhones saving users' lives thanks to the crash detection feature.
An iPhone user was involved in a terrible accident where his car fell off a 400-foot cliff. However, the satellite-powered crash detection feature on his iPhone 14 kicked in and alerted authorities with a precise location, ending up saving his life.
Another woman fell off a cliff, and her iPhone 14 also helped save her life.
In June, an Ontario man credited his Apple Watch for saving his life after falling off a ladder.
Apple Watches With Crash Detection: Currently, the Apple Watch Series 8 and later, Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch SE (2022) support crash detection.
Here's what Apple says about crash detection:
"Crash Detection is designed to detect severe car crashes – such as front-impact, side-impact and rear-end collisions and rollovers – involving saloons, minivans, 4X4s, pickup trucks and other passenger cars."
