During the Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2023, Microsoft Corporation MSFT made several announcements focusing on Japan and Japanese-inspired games.

"Japan will always have a special place in my heart for pioneering innovative ways to play, from the Game Boy, to PSP, to the Switch," Xbox's head Phil Spencer said.

  • Hotel Barcelona: Microsoft unveiled "Hotel Barcelona," a horror-action game developed in collaboration with Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro and Goichi "Suda51" Suda, set to release in 2024 on Xbox Series X and S.
  • Octopath Traveler 2: An Xbox version of the RPG "Octopath Traveler 2" was announced for early 2024, expanding on Square Enix's partnership with Microsoft to bring more Japanese games to the platform.
  • Forza Motorsport: Microsoft showcased "Forza Motorsport" and its Hakone course, set for release on Oct. 10 for Xbox Series X and S, along with inclusion in Game Pass.
  • Fallout 76: Bethesda's "Fallout 76" introduced an Atlantic City update, split into two releases, with the first part arriving on Dec. 5, including new locations, factions, missions, and rewards.
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: ZeniMax Online Studios announced the Japanese release of "The Elder Scrolls Online" on Nov. 15, 2023, with the Necrom expansion coming to consoles in February.

  • Like a Dragon Gaiden: This title is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass on Nov. 9, with "Like a Dragon: Ishin!" coming to Game Pass later in 2023.
  • Mineko Night Market: The cute adventure game will be available on Game Pass and PC Game Pass on Oct. 26.
  • My Lovely Empress: The third installment of the "My Lovely" series is expected in 2024 on Xbox consoles and Windows PC.
  • Palworld: Described as "Pokemon with guns," this monster-collecting RPG is set to arrive on Xbox and Windows PC in 2024.
  • Party Animals: The co-op game "Party Animals" features Ori and Naru from the Ori series as playable characters.
  • Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica: These Persona games received new trailers and are set to launch in early 2024 and Nov. 17, 2023, respectively, across various platforms, including Game Pass.
  • PUBG: Battlegrounds: A new trailer showcased changes coming to the Erangel map in October, promising more dynamic gameplay.
  • Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty DLC: The "Conqueror of Jiangdong" expansion for "Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty" is set to release on Sept. 27, featuring new weapons, enemies, bosses, and a crossover with "Lies of P."
