Tesla Considering $10.5 Million 'Cyber Cafeteria' Project in Texas Gigafactory, Shows Purported Official Document

EV giant Tesla Inc TSLA is reportedly considering building a ‘Cyber cafeteria’ at its Gigafactory in Texas.

What Happened: As per an image of a purportedly official document, circulating on X, formerly Twitter, Tesla is looking to build a Cyber cafeteria starting in late October. The project is expected to be completed by April 2024 and would cost an estimated $10.5 million.

As per the document, Tesla is looking to build the cafeteria on a level of Giga Texas. The cafeteria is expected to be spread across 22k square feet and going by the name, will be Cybertruck-inspired. Whether it would be limited to employees or open to the public remains to be seen.

Benzinga was unable to independently verify the document.

Why It Matters: Meanwhile, Tesla’s "futuristic" diner in Los Angeles is expected to be ready later this year. The diner, which Musk described as "Grease meets The Jetsons" will also be a supercharger location.

In March this year, Tesla showed an illustration of the diner restaurant, complete with a rooftop patio, drive-in movie screens and charging ports at its investor day. Musk first touted the idea of a drive-in restaurant in LA in January 2018.
