Elon Musk's LinkedIn Challenger Feature On X Is Now Tesla's Go-To For Talent Acquisition

Tesla Inc TSLA is seemingly looking to hire more employees via X, which happens to be owned by the electric vehicle giant’s CEO.

What HappenedRemi Cadene, a staff scientist who builds “nice little robots at Tesla AI,” put up a post on X saying that he is looking for an intern.

“Seeking a strong intern for deep learning research with me on Optimus. Doing PhD in Robotics optional. Open to international candidates. DM me if interested,” Cadene wrote on X. In a later tweet reply, Cadene clarified that he does not believe in “geniuses” but passionate people willing to focus.

Further, every Tesla affiliate X account now has posted jobs on their profiles with the new XHiring feature

Why It Matters: The XHiring feature is under testing and available solely to verified organizations on the social media platform. It helps them feature critical roles on their profiles and reach relevant candidates for open positions.

The feature is a possible competitor to Microsoft Corporation’s MSFT LinkedIn. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously called LinkedIn "cringe" and hinted that he plans to introduce an alternative on X.

"People send me LinkedIn links sometimes, but the cringe level is so high that I just can’t bring myself to use it, so I ask for the resume or bio to be emailed. We will make sure that the X competitor to LinkedIn is cool," Musk said.

Other employers now advertising job openings on X include CoinbaseY Combinator and Axios.
