Former President Donald Trump has intensified his hostile rhetoric against political and legal opponents amid his 2024 campaign and ongoing legal challenges.
NBC News analysis of Trump’s recent campaign events, which spanned across both coasts and battleground states like Iowa and Michigan, revealed a surge in his aggressive language, both in speeches and social media posts.
Trump’s hard-hitting remarks have targeted several key figures including Gen. Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and New York Attorney General Letitia James. He suggested Milley deserved the death penalty and labeled James as “corrupt and racist,” “rogue” and “out of control.”

The former President, in his campaign speech in California, suggested shoplifters should be shot on sight, a statement met with approval from the crowd. He also took aim at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her husband Paul Pelosi, referring to a violent attack against them.
In addition to this, Trump called for the resignation of Justice Arthur Engoron, who is presiding over his fraud case, accusing him of abusing his power.
While some of Trump’s supporters have expressed concern over his escalating rhetoric, others have embraced it, reflecting similar sentiments.
