Apple's iPhone 15 Users Report Distorted Audio, Crackling Speakers

Less than two weeks after its launch, the Apple Inc. AAPL iPhone 15 is already facing user complaints about overheating and distorted audio issues.

As reported by 9to5Mac, a section of iPhone 15 users are experiencing problems with the device’s built-in speakers. Users claim the audio sounds crackly and rattly, particularly when the volume is turned up high.

A Reddit post has multiple comments from different iPhone 15 model users who noticed distorted, crackly audio. Reports suggest that the earpiece speaker is most affected.

Users have also reported persistent issues with replacement units.

“My iPhone 15 Pro Max arrived launch day, and from out of the box, full volume speaker calls rattle the speaker and sound like liquid inside, and same for music above like 80%,” a user reported.

It is still uncertain if the issue is hardware-related or a software glitch. Despite the problem persisting in replacement units, most believe it is more likely to be a software issue. Apple has yet to acknowledge the issue.

Previously, users complained about the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max heating excessively after a period of use. Apple acknowledged a software issue causing the devices to run at abnormally high temperatures and committed to releasing a software update to resolve this.
