Jenn Meadows, COO of Würk, recently spoke at Benzinga’s Cannabis Capital Conference, on the “Scale Beyond Payroll: Expecting Success” panel.
Würk services approximately 80% of the top multi-state operators (MSOs) and has been servicing cannabis exclusively since 2015. Meadows shares that, when companies are just starting out, they often choose the easiest and cheapest payroll supplier they can find.
However, scalability is really important; thus, it's important to look for a provider that can work with you whether you have 5 or 50 employees.
Another thing to look for is if a payroll company is cannabis compliant because of the regulatory nuances within the industry.
