Scott Greiper, founder and president of Viridian Capital Advisors, moderated a panel called “M&A: Will Rescheduling Reignite Growth?” at Benzinga’s Cannabis Capital Conference. Greiper shared some interesting statistics about the industry. According to Greiper, the amount of equity capital invested in the last year in cannabis is down 68%. However, the amount of M&A deals is down only about 40%. He then posed the question to the panel, “If equity is down and debt down, why are there still a good amount of M&A deals done?”
