British billionaire Richard Branson, the founder of space travel company Virgin Galactic Holdings Inc, on Tuesday, praised the entrepreneurial achievements of Sophia, a young dyslexic entrepreneur who initiated her own ice cream business as a teen.

What Happened: During a visit to Oslo earlier this year, Branson encountered the inspiring story of Sophia, a teenager with a passion for entrepreneurship.

Despite facing the challenges of dyslexia, Sophia launched her ice cream business, aptly named LICC, when she was just 13 years old.

Her dream? To become Europe’s largest employer for young people.

Sophia’s ice cream business has not only become a local sensation for its delectable flavors, with Branson himself praising the delicious chocolate ice cream, but it has also become a source of employment for over 100 individuals in just three months.

Her ability to transform her passion into a thriving business venture and create opportunities for her peers is a testament to the power of entrepreneurial spirit and determination.

Meanwhile, during his visit to Oslo, Norway, Branson also participated in a 50km cycling event organized by the Oslo Dawn. He also met Morton BergeFerd’s CEO, the new lead investor in Auticon, a social enterprise business.

“We became early-stage investors in Auticon back in 2016 when we were inspired by their mission to help people with autism find meaningful and long-term employment,” said Branson in his blog.
