Tesla Employees Shot At A Cybertruck 'Al Capone Style' Just To Prove That It's Bulletproof, Says Elon Musk

Ever since its dramatic unveiling in November 2019, Tesla Inc's TSLA Cybertruck has been touted as a game-changer for the electric vehicle industry, including its claim of being bulletproof. As the much-anticipated launch is set to take place on Nov. 30, new images and video have emerged on X showing a Cybertruck's doors dented but not compromised after supposedly being shot multiple times with Thompson submachine gun. Bullet marks appear to be present.

On Friday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to X to confirm that the durability test was as extreme as it looked, stating, "We emptied the entire drum magazine of a Tommy gun into the driver door Al Capone style. No bullets penetrated into the passenger compartment." The claim led to speculation that the ammunitions used were likely .45 caliber rounds, which are significantly higher caliber compared to the 9mm rounds to which Tesla said the truck was bulletproof during a reveal in 2019.
The demonstration appears to confirm several ambitious claims made during the Cybertruck's 2019 unveiling, where the vehicle's durability, including its bulletproof nature, was a significant selling point.
