Lucid's New Referral Program Takes A Page From Tesla's Playbook: Details Here

EV maker Lucid Group, Inc. LCID on Monday said that it has launched a new referral program in the United States, rewarding existing customers in the likes of major player Tesla Inc.

What Happened: New customers can receive a discount of up to $1,250 on having a referral link from an existing Lucid user. However, the $1,250 is only for the Air Grand Touring whose price starts at $125,600.

For the cheapest Lucid Air trim, the Air Pure, one can receive a discount of $750 and $1000 for an Air Touring. On purchasing the limited edition Lucid Air Sapphire with a referral link, customers will receive a Sapphire-branded duffel bag of the same leather as the Sapphire interiors.

On friends and family taking delivery of a new Lucid vehicle with their referral link, referrers or existing Lucid owners will get credited points which they can use to redeem for branded gear, vehicle accessories, or limited-edition products. Referrers who manage to garner 50,000 points can even have a tour of Lucid’s factory in Arizona. Lucid will provide flights and two-night hotel accommodation as part of the tour.

Why It Matters: Lucid’s new referral program is largely along the lines of Tesla’s referral program.

On purchasing a new Tesla Model S, 3, X or Y with a referral code, the buyer can get three months of full self-driving capability and a discount of $250. The referrers, meanwhile, will receive credits they can redeem for various offers.

The EV giant recently announced an offer where users with $1000 credits can use it to enter the Model Y Long Range Sweepstakes. The winner will be picked at random in January and can drive home a Model Y Long Range while paying for solely taxes and fees. The Model Y Long Range starts at $48,490.
