Netanyahu Says Israel Gearing Up For Possible Ground Invasion Of Gaza: 'All Hamas Members Are Dead Men'

Israel is reportedly readying for a possible ground invasion of Gaza, as per the country’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to a report by the Financial Times, this move is seen as a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. However, Netanyahu refused to share the exact details of when or how the ground invasion would be carried out.

"All Hamas members are dead men. Above ground, underground, in Gaza and outside Gaza,” Netanyahu remarked.

Netanyahu’s statement comes amid a surge in cross-border violence, the worst in years, which has resulted in several civilian casualties on both sides.

The U.S. has requested that Israel delay its ground offensive. This is to enable the U.S. to refine its military strategies, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and maximize the rescue efforts for the more than 200 individuals taken hostage by Hamas on Oct. 7. Among these hostages, up to 10 are thought to be U.S. citizens. Efforts are also underway by the U.S. to evacuate foreign nationals from Gaza, utilizing Gaza’s only border passageway with Egypt.

The Israeli leader also commented that the security oversights that culminated in the tragic Hamas attacks on Oct. 7 would be thoroughly reviewed. These assaults by the Islamist faction’s militants resulted in the deaths of 1,400 Israelis, predominantly civilians, in the southern border areas.

Netanyahu acknowledged his accountability in the situation, stating, "A comprehensive investigation will be conducted. Everyone, including myself, will have to provide explanations."

Netanyahu’s statement arises in the backdrop of media discussions highlighting disagreements within his military advisory board regarding their approach.
