Tesla Inc TSLA CEO Elon Musk has announced fresh insights about the much-anticipated Cybertruck, including a ‘Beast Mode’ version and bulletproof options.
What Happened: Musk, in an interview with Joe Rogan on his show “The Joe Rogan Experience,” revealed that the electric pickup truck will weigh between 6,000 to 7,000 pounds, depending on the model purchased, aligning it with the weight range of typical EV pickup trucks, reported Business Insider.
Musk also hinted at a “beast mode” variant of the Cybertruck but did not elaborate on the specifics of this version. Additionally, he confirmed the offering of bulletproof steel panels and an option for bulletproof glass despite the usability tradeoff of immobile windows due to their thickness.
“Trucks are supposed to be tough, right?” Musk said.
The Tesla CEO assured that the bulletproof capabilities of the Cybertruck will be validated through three demonstrations involving a Tommy gun, a 45-millimeter shotgun, and a 9-millimeter gun. He also expressed his expectations for the “Beast Mode” version of the EV pickup to hit 60 miles per hour in under 3 seconds.
The Cybertruck’s delivery event has been scheduled for Nov. 30, but Musk warned that scaling production for this innovative vehicle would be challenging.
