MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell is coming back to live selling, but you won’t be able to find his lineup of pillows and towels on TV. He’s instead aligning himself with the live-streaming trend, launching a series of new shows on MARKET.live, the social shopping platform owned by Verb Technology Company Inc. VERB.
Premiering on November 10, 2023, the series of shows is designed to make it easy for MyPillow fans and customers to shop through videos and engage directly with Lindell and co-host Tiffany Bucciarelli of Life-Styled with Tiffany & Sergio, one of the many popular livestream shopping shows on MARKET.live. The MyPillow CEO wants the shows to be an innovator in live streaming, leveraging MARKET.live’s technology and approach to live content to make that happen.
MyPillow: All In With Live Streaming?
“We want to offer MyPillow fans and customers the ability to shop through MyPillow videos where they can engage directly with us, and even with other MyPillow shoppers, live, in real-time, and purchase our amazing products that we’ll feature in the live videos quickly and easily through on-screen clickable icons. We intend to be at the forefront of livestream shopping and that’s why we selected Verb’s MARKET.live as our livestream partner of choice,” said Lindell. Television was once an effective way to reach shoppers, but that’s changed over the past decade, and a preference for mobile-friendly shopping that’s not static is driving the shift, says Lindell.
Social Shopping Innovations
It may come as no surprise that MyPillow selected MARKET.live for its new shows. VERB’s platform hosts hundreds of shoppable videos from multiple consumer brands, big-box brick-and-mortar, boutiques, influencers and celebrities across numerous categories. Shoppers can ask the host questions, invite friends to shop and chat with other shoppers in real-time. Purchasing is made easy in live sessions and recorded ones thanks to advanced technology. Unlike rivals, MARKET.live doesn’t rely on chatbots with prepopulated answers. Shoppers get the answers they need in real time.
VERB is also bringing live shopping to life by integrating MARKET.live with the leading social media platforms including its recent groundbreaking deal with TikTok. The technology integration allows users on MARKET.live to get direct access to the social media company’s 150 million U.S. base. The integration with TikTok Shop represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of MARKET.live, marrying the dynamic capabilities of MARKET.live with TikTok's visionary Shop feature and underscoring VERB’s aim to be among the leaders in bringing live shopping to the masses.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Mike Lindell and the MyPillow brand to MARKET.live,” said VERB CEO Rory J. Cutaia. “MARKET.live represents a perfect opportunity for the millions of MyPillow fans to engage directly with Mike and the ever-expanding catalog of incredible top-quality MyPillow products.”
Live Shopping Seems Poised To Take Off
MyPillow’s launch on MARKET.live comes as live shopping seems to be taking off. It’s forecast to reach between $32 billion and $50 billion in the U.S. in 2023, and by 2026, live-streaming e-commerce is estimated to account for 5% of all U.S. e-commerce sales. If the success in China is any indication, those forecasts may even prove conservative. According to Insider Intelligence, live shopping is projected to account for 19% of all retail commerce sales in China this year. Sales are forecast to reach $843.93 billion in 2025, up from $562.62 billion in 2023.
The way people shop is getting a drastic overhaul with the proliferation of mobile devices and advances in technology. Gone are the days when you looked at static images and dialed a phone number to place an order. Now, consumers can engage live with the brand and make a purchase with one or two clicks. VERB is making that happen with its MARKET.live shopping platform.
