Nikki Haley Winner, Vivek Ramaswamy Loser In Third GOP Presidential Debate, But Trump Remains Top Choice: Poll

In the latest developments from the Republican camp, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley emerged as the winner in the third GOP presidential debate, while conservative entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy ended up at the bottom, according to a poll of viewers.

What Happened: A poll conducted by 538, Washington Post, and Ipsos revealed that Haley won the hearts of the Republican audience in the third presidential debate, reports The Hill. Thirty-four percent of likely Republican primary and caucus voters believed Haley outshined the other four candidates. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was the second favorite, bagging 23% of the votes. Ramaswamy, on the other hand, found himself at the bottom, with a dismal rating of 29%.

The NBC News-aired debate saw a heated exchange between Haley and Ramaswamy, with the latter referring to Haley as "Dick Cheney in 3-inch heels" and Haley firing back by calling Ramaswamy "scum" after he mentioned her daughter's use of TikTok.

Fifty-five percent of voters rated Haley's performance as excellent or very good, while only 33% said the same for Ramaswamy. Despite this, former President Donald Trump remained the top choice for primary voters, with 63% of respondents considering voting for him.

Why It Matters: The debate and the poll results highlight the rising tension within the GOP. The feud between Haley and Ramaswamy escalated during the debate when Ramaswamy criticized Haley’s daughter for using TikTok.

According to a Benzinga report, Ramaswamy accused Haley of hypocrisy for criticizing him over the use of TikTok while her own daughter used the platform. This exchange resulted in Haley calling Ramaswamy “scum,” further fueling the controversy within the party.
