Eaton to Build PV System for VA - Analyst Blog

Diversified power management company Eaton Corporation (ETN) recently announced that it will design and install the largest Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System in New Mexico for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care System.

The company said that it received a $20 million contract to install a 3.2 megawatt (MW) of solar cell system in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The project will provide turn-key solution for VA, including car port and roof-mounted PV arrays. The project will also reduce the amount of electricity the department gets from the local utility grid.

This contract is one of the several recent agreements that Eaton has reached with government organizations. The company’s recent government contracts include an $8 million in electrical products and services for the San Antonio Military Medical Center on the Fort Sam Houston Army base in Texas.

Eaton is now fully engaged in the sustainable energy market. Eaton offers a spectrum of solutions designed to reduce energy consumption, which are environment-friendly. By managing solar power through turn-key services and support, electrical balance of systems solutions and hydraulic positioning systems, Eaton provides strategic coordination among all the electrical equipment, design and installation services required to install a functioning solar power system.

This is a major project for Eaton, which will combine its expertise in electrical components and power distribution with comprehensive solar power system design and installation.
