Valve, the American video game developer, publisher and digital distribution company, has a peculiar message for Steam Deck owners: stop sniffing its vent fumes.
Since the handheld PC's release, users have been indulging in the distinct aroma emitted from its exhaust, turning it into a bit of a joke.

As per Kotaku, Dec. 12 saw Reddit user Metapod100 posting a screenshot querying Steam Support about the safety of inhaling the exhaust fumes emitted from the top vent of the Steam Deck.
The user highlighted the trend of people finding enjoyment in the scent, considering it to have become "somewhat of a meme" and acknowledged that many individuals genuinely derive pleasure from this practice.
“As with all electronics, it is generally not recommended you inhale the exhaust fumes on your device,” Steam Support said. “While there are no safety concerns with general usage, directly inhaling the device’s vent fumes should be avoided.”
Valve’s support team acknowledged that they "understand" the trend turning into a meme, yet they emphasized their desire for Steam Deck owners to "refrain from this behavior for the safety of your health."
