After scoring a Grand Theft Auto Trilogy in November, Netflix Games is getting another boost with the addition of Sonic Mania Plus, allowing subscribers on iOS and Android to play the best Sonic game of this decade.
What Happened: Netflix Inc. NFLX is expanding its gaming library with the addition of Sonic Mania Plus, bringing everyone's favorite Hedgehog to iOS and Android devices in 2024.
In addition to this fan-favorite, Netflix is also adding Game Dev Tycoon, FashionVerse, and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit to its portfolio.

With this, Netflix's game library will rise to 86 titles, allowing its subscribers to play these games on iPhones, iPads, and Android phones and tablets without any in-app purchases or ads.
The streaming giant added three classic Grand Theft Auto titles made by Take Two Interactive Software Inc.'s TTWO Rockstar Games. These three classic GTA games were added in November, marking the second anniversary of Netflix Games.
To make it easy to play these games on smartphones, the streaming service launched a new app called Netflix Game Controller, transforming iPhones into handy consoles.
Later, Netflix also started beta testing gaming support on other devices like TVs and computers, allowing subscribers to play games on devices more suited to these games.
Why It Matters: Netflix Games has seen a noticeable expansion in 2023, with its library growing to 86 titles. The streaming service plans to more than double it by adding 90 more titles in 2024.
Adding some of the most popular games to its library should help users stomach the recent price hikes announced by Netflix. The top-tier Premium plan now costs $22.99 in the US, after a $3 hike announced in October.
