Health tech company Vivoo has introduced an innovative at-home Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) test kit. The product, touted to deliver “gold standard accuracy results” within two minutes, aims to digitize and streamline UTI testing by providing real-time results via a mobile application.
What Happened: Vivoo’s latest offering is an at-home UTI test kit, launched on the heels of their smart toilet debut at the previous CES event. The kit enables users to perform a urine analysis test at their convenience, delivering rapid results through the company’s app.
The process is simple: users employ the provided test strip, scan it, and receive instant results.
If the test uncovers a UTI, the app facilitates a connection with a doctor for a prompt prescription. The company posits that this product can save time, clarify readings, and digitalize data for easy sharing with healthcare providers.
UTIs, being the most common type of outpatient infection, affect six out of ten women. The new kit aims to streamline the testing process by eliminating the need for lab-based urine tests and storing relevant data for users, a unique feature absent in current at-home kits.
Besides, the app can assist in tracking recurrent UTIs, providing critical information for healthcare professionals treating such cases. The at-home UTI test kit is slated for a Q2 2024 release, with pricing details yet to be announced.
