Benzinga's After Hours Gainers (MBI, AA, ESV, FCX)

Among the notable stocks that are moving higher in the after hours trading session are MBIA MBI, Alcoa AA, Ensco ESV and Freeport-McMoran FCX. MBIA (MBI) shares have risen 7.31% to $6.90 after Bruce Berkowitz's Fairholme Capital Management disclosed an 11.1% stake in the bond insurer. Alcoa (AA) shares have jumped 3.04% to $11.20 in the after hours after the company released its Q2 earnings report, exceeding Wall Street estimates. Alcoa said that demand is up across all of its businesses. Ensco (ESV) has gained 2.62% to $40.53 in late trading after David Einhorn's Greenlight Capital disclosed a small position in the offshore driller. Shares of Freeport-McMoran (FCX) have surged 1.39% to $64.10 on heavy volume in the after hours. Presumably, investors are buying the stock after hearing relatively positive commentary out of Alcoa's (AA) management. The two companies are similarly effected by global demand trends for industrial metals.
