RTX Corporation RTX said Air India has selected its unit Collins Aerospace for a full suite of avionics hardware catering to the airline’s expanding Boeing Company‘s BA 737 MAX fleet.
The deal was announced at the ongoing Singapore Airshow 2024, the company said in a press release.
The extensive bundle comprises communication, navigation, and surveillance equipment alongside air data sensors, aiming to boost safety, fuel efficiency, and operational performance within Air India’s fleet.
Collins’ radio altimeters offer precise digital height readings during critical approach, landing, and climb-out phases. They also actively filter and mitigate potential interference from 5G cellular signals.
Air India will also receive Collins’ MultiScan ThreatTrack weather radar, which predicts adverse weather conditions and actively displays and analyzes cells – providing real-time route adjustments, reducing long deviations and delays, and ensuring passengers enjoy a smoother journey.
Price Action: RTX shares are trading higher by 0.15% to $89.75 premarket on the last check Thursday.
