Centene CNC posted a profit in the second quarter.
For the year, Centene lifted the low end of its earnings forecast to $2.65 to $2.90 per share.
Centene posted a quarterly profit of $39.5 million, or $0.70 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $35 million, or $0.68 per share.
Its premium and service revenue gained 28% to $2.63 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.65 per share on revenue of $2.65 billion.
Centene shares closed at $55.92 yesterday.
