Primitiv Boston, owned and operated by former Detroit Lions teammates Calvin Johnson Jr., Rob Sims and Boston College Hall of Famer Gosder Cherilus is introducing Primitiv-branded cannabis flower to those living in greater Boston this spring.
Primitiv's pre-packed 1/8ths and pre-rolls are part of a collaboration with cultivation partners The Cure and Resinate.
The products will be available at Primitiv Boston and other select dispensaries including Resinate, The Verb is Herb, 6 Bricks, and Yamba later this month.
The initial lineup of flower products will feature Skywalker OG, Jack Herer, Gelato, Doja Oak, SFV OG, Oakstradam OG, King Louie, and Strawberry Lemon Banana strains.
The announcement coincides with NECANN Boston 2024, allowing attendees to speak with Johnson and Cherilus about the new products and cannabis space.
“Our team at Primitiv Boston has been working on this collaboration since we opened our doors last July and are thrilled with the final product that we are rolling out later this month," Johnson said.

The Michigan-based cannabis company first announced it would open a dispensary on High Street in Boston's Waterfront District a year ago.
In the meantime, in June Johnson and Sims paid a visit to their cannabis company in Niles, Michigan where Johnson said setting up shop in a place like Niles was no coincidence. “Niles made so much sense because of the location. We knew where Indiana was with their legislation and we knew where Chicago was as well."
Both Johnson and Sims suffered from the long-term effects of the physical and mental punishment sustained during their playing careers.
In a recent episode of Robert Griffin III's podcast, ‘RG3 and The Ones,‘ Johnson, said he consumed cannabis before some games in his final NFL season in 2015 to prepare his mind and manage pain.
