Betting Odds: Last year, Jon Rahm, one of the top betting favorites, clinched victory at the 2023 Masters Tournament.
Ahead of the event, Rahm had odds of around +700 to +1,200 depending on the sportsbook.
This year's event sees one of the top betting favorites in recent years with Scottie Scheffler in top form and the odds-on favorite to win a second Masters, after his win in 2022.
Scheffler has won two of his last three PGA Tour events, placing second in the other event, and is the number one ranked golfer in the world. Scheffler has six top 10 finishes during the 2024 PGA Tour season.
Last year, Scheffler finished tied for 10th place.
Here are the current odds to win the 2024 Masters and place in the top 10 from sportsbook DraftKings Inc DKNG.
- Scheffler: +400 win, -200 top 10
- Rory McIlroy: +1,000, +110
- Rahm: +1,100, +115
- Xander Schauffele: +1,400, +130
- Brooks Koepka: +1,600, +190
- Hideki Matsuyama: +1,800, +170
- Jordan Spieth: +2,500, +200
- Joaquin Niemann: +2,800, +240
- Ludvig Aberg: +3,000, +250

Key Storylines to Watch: Woods has not been as active on the golf tour in recent years due to injuries. He competed last year and made the cut before withdrawing with an injury. This year, Woods has the worst odds ever to win a championship.
Here are the current odds for Woods.
Win: +14,000, Top 5: +2,200, Top 10: +900, Top 20: +330
Woods is also listed at -115 to make the cut after the first two days. For the Masters, the top 50 golfers by score, including ties, make the cut to the final two days.
This will mark the first Masters Tournament since Woods began a new partnership with TaylorMade after ending a long running apparel partnership and sponsorship with Nike Inc NKE. Wood's new clothes could be a big story at the event.
Woods has competed in 25 Masters Tournaments with 24 cuts, tying a record for 23 straight cuts last season. The golfer hasn't won since the 2019 tournament and has only ranked in the top 10 three times over his last 10 times at the tournament, but making the cut remains a popular bet.
Scheffler could be another top storyline for the event, and not just because he is the favorite. Scheffler's wife Meredith is pregnant with the couple's first child and has a due date around three weeks away.
According to the Golf Channel, Scheffler has gone on the record to say that he would withdraw from the tournament at any point if his wife is in labor back home in Texas.
Sportsbooks would be faced with a tough decision of whether to void any bets or accept normal rules of golfers withdrawing being a loss. BetMGM's John Ewing said the bets would be marked as losses.
Barstool Sportsbook owner Dave Portnoy is likely hoping that Scheffler's wife doesn't go into labor after betting $300,000 for a potential profit of $1.35 million if Scheffler wins as the favorite.
Along with Scheffler, golfer Sam Burns also faces the same challenge of golfing and having a pregnant wife back home (Louisiana) who could call at any point. Burns has also said he would withdraw if his wife went into labor, she’s due in one week.
Burns is the 22nd ranked golfer and has odds of +7,500 to win the 2024 Masters and odds of +500 to finish in the top 10.
Golf Digest shared that Phil Mickelson carried a beeper around during the final round of the 1999 U.S. Open with his wife pregnant. The golfer came in second place, and his wife gave birth the next day.
McIlroy remains one of the top golfers in the world and has won three of the four major tournaments, with the Masters being the only title he's missing.
In a recent interview, McIlroy recalled all the winners of the Masters since the year he was born, 1989, and predicted himself as the 2024 winner. McIlroy's best finish at the tournament was second, and he has seven top 10 finishes in the last 10 years. The golfer was cut in both 2023 and 2021, the years surrounding his second-place finish (2022).
