Sanofi Reports Strong Earnings, Joins Kirby, Sonic Automotive, Union Pacific And Other Big Stocks Moving Higher On Thursday

U.S. stocks were lower, with the Dow Jones falling over 600 points on Thursday.

Shares of Sanofi SA SNY rose sharply during Thursday's session following better-than-expected first-quarter earnings.

Sanofi reported first-quarter operating income of 2.8 billion euros, down 14.7% Y/Y and 4.2% on constant currency. The French drugmaker reported adjusted EPS of 97 cents (1.78 euros), beating the consensus estimate of 94 cents, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

Sanofi shares climbed 5.5% to $49.15 on Thursday.
