Accenture Plc ACN secured a decade-long, $789 million contract to aid U.S. Navy maritime forces in unified cybersecurity operations within the SHARKCAGE environment, safeguarding a unified security perimeter.
Accenture Federal Services will assist in delivering advanced attack sensing and warning capabilities vital for current security needs in U.S. Navy fleets, the company said in a press release.
The SHARKCAGE contract includes a base ordering period of five years and one option for an additional five years.
According to Benzinga Pro, ACN stock has gained 14% in the past year. Investors can gain exposure to the stock via IShares U.S. Tech Independence Focused ETFIETC and Vesper US Large Cap Short-Term Reversal Strategy ETFUTRN.
Accenture Federal Services will provide the Navy’s Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Program Manager, Warfare Cybersecurity with ashore and afloat SHARKCAGE systems.
“The role of cybersecurity in modern maritime military readiness has evolved and expanded. Network interconnectedness is essential to protecting critical U.S. defense assets and sensitive military data,” said Rick Driggers, Accenture Federal Services managing director and cyber practice lead.
Last month, the company inked a pact with banking behemoth The Bank Of New York Mellon Corporation BK to modernize financial services offerings with an initial focus on data management and analytics product development and delivery.
The companies will leverage cutting-edge technologies to unlock the potential of data at unprecedented speeds, aiding their shared clients in driving rapid growth.
By blending Accenture’s proficiency in data, AI, and platform engineering with BNY Mellon’s extensive financial data and analytics services, the collaboration will expedite the rollout of innovative offerings in private markets and wealth management tech.
