Donald Trump's Daughter-In-Law Alleges Bias In Upcoming Presidential Debates, Says 'Scales Have Always Tipped Against' Ex-President

In a recent development, Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), has accused the presidential debates of being biased towards President Joe Biden. This allegation comes in the wake of the announcement that Biden and former President Donald Trump have agreed to participate in two debates, scheduled for June 27 on CNN and Sep. 10 on ABC.

What Happened: Lara Trump made these allegations during an interview on Fox News’s “Hannity,” The Hill reported. She claimed that “the scales have always been tipped against Donald Trump,” but expressed confidence in the former president’s ability to face his competitor.

She also referred to the four criminal indictments Trump is facing, suggesting that these challenges have prepared him for the upcoming debates.

“He’s not afraid of anything they throw his way,” she said.

The allegations made by Lara Trump come at a time when recent polling from the New York Times/Siena College/Philadelphia Inquirer shows the former president leading Biden in five of six swing states among registered voters. However, Geoff Garin, a Democratic pollster for the Biden campaign, has cautioned against drawing broad conclusions from a single poll. He noted that many voters are still undecided and that only the Biden campaign is actively working to win them over.

Why It Matters: These debates have been a topic of discussion since Biden signaled his intent to participate in debates in a post to the social media site X. His post read, "Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020; since then, he hasn't shown up for a debate," Biden said. "Now he's acting like he wants to debate me again. Make my day, pal. I'll even do it twice."

However, not everyone is in favor of these debates. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has expressed her disapproval of Biden debating with Trump, citing instances from 2016 and 2020 when Trump appeared to physically intimidate his opponents and frequently interrupted the moderator.
