San Diego-based cannabis company Gelato Canna Co. announced the launch of its newest products, Geebs gummy edibles and pre rolls, in honor of professional surfer and filmmaker Greg Browning. Proceeds from Geebs will support Browning, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2023 and ALS charities. Geebs products are now available in participating California dispensaries, including Gelato's Lake Elsinore location.

Supporting ALS Relief Through Cannabis

ALS affects nearly 5,000 people annually in the U.S., with an average life expectancy of 2 to 5 years post-diagnosis. There is no known cure. Gelato CEO George Sadler, a friend of Browning, launched Geebs after learning about the potential benefits of cannabis for ALS symptom relief.

"Despite the adversity, Greg’s resilience and determination continue to inspire many in the surfing community and beyond," said Sadler. "This collaboration not only showcases the power of community support but also highlights the role of innovative solutions, such as cannabis, in contributing to the well-being of individuals facing health struggles like ALS."

Browning’s Legendary Career

Browning is renowned for his work both in surfing and filmmaking. His FUEL TV series "Drive Thru" featured surfers like Kelly Slater and Carissa Moore. Browning's career began as a competitive amateur surfer before transitioning to cinematography.

"I was completely taken by surprise when George presented the Geebs products to me in front of our friends," said Browning. "It's not easy to navigate a diagnosis like this, but knowing I have so much support in the surfing community, film community and now the cannabis community truly makes me realize how lucky I am. I hope anyone dealing with their own health struggles can find comfort with cannabis, including Geebs."

Balancing Corporate Success With Charitable Efforts

Since its launch in March 2022, Gelato has prioritized charitable endeavors alongside its corporate milestones. The company recently hosted a community giveback in downtown San Diego and regularly donates to charities focusing on homelessness and food security. Sadler and his son, Cody, also participated in the George Lopez Celebrity Golf Classic to support kidney disease patients.

Each Geebs gummy bag contains 10 gummies with 10mg THC each. The Geebs pre roll contains 1.2 grams of Diamond infused flower, dusted in kief. Both products feature the Island Punch Sativa strain.
