Whether they're your best friends or the bane of your existence during family gatherings, there's no denying the unique bond brothers share. But instead of fighting over the TV remote, these brothers are winning Nobel prizes, making cinematic history, or changing the course of nations.
In honor of National Brother’s Day, let's roll out the red carpet for six duos (and sometimes trios!) of brothers whose collective achievements have left a mark on history.
1. The Wright Brothers

First up, meet the Wright brothers, Wilbur and Orville. These guys turned daydreams about flight into reality with the world's first motor-operated airplane. Imagine this: December 17, 1903, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina—history soared as their invention took flight for the first time. Wilbur popped into the world in 1867 near Millville, Indiana, and Orville followed suit in 1871 in Dayton, Ohio.
2. The Brothers Grimm

Next, we've got the Brothers Grimm, Jacob and Wilhelm, whose real-life story might as well be a fairy tale. Born in the 1800s in Germany, these scholars roamed the countryside, collecting folk tales and preserving them for posterity—think classics like Cinderella and Snow White. Thanks to them, these tales didn’t vanish into the ether.
3. The Marx Brothers

Then there are the Marx Brothers, a quintet of comedic genius. Born in New York City to Jewish immigrants, Chico, Harpo, Groucho, Gummo, and Zeppo turned vaudeville on its head from 1905 to 1949 with their zany antics and unforgettable performances on Broadway and the silver screen.
4. The Manning Brothers
![With their father, Archie Manning, as an NFL quarterback, it's no surprise Peyton and Eli Manning tossed their way to football fame. Image: Flickr/ sdk](https://editorial-assets.benzinga.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/22103156/Peyton-and-Eli-Manning-1024x576.jpg)
Let’s talk sports with the Manning brothers, Peyton and Eli, NFL royalty thanks to their quarterback dad, Archie Manning. Peyton, born in 1976, snagged two Super Bowl wins with the Colts and the Broncos. Eli, born five years later, mirrored his big bro with two Super Bowl victories of his own with the New York Giants.
5. The Hemsworth Brothers

From the gridiron to the big screen, Australian actors Chris and Liam Hemsworth have captured hearts worldwide. Chris, older by seven years, thundered into the spotlight as Thor in the Avengers. Meanwhile, Liam made waves in films like The Last Song, where his short-lived marriage to Miley Cyrus began.
6. The Jonas Brothers
![If you're a pop music fan, you have likely heard of Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas. Image: Shutterstock/ Tsuni-USA](https://editorial-assets.benzinga.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/22102722/The-Jonas-Brothers-1024x575.jpg)
Last but not least, pop music wouldn't be the same without the Jonas Brothers. Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas started their band in 2005 and quickly climbed to global fame with catchy tunes, touring the world, and even starring in TV shows and movies.
