What Happened: According to Teslarati, a survey conducted in March by Scrap Car Comparison found that Tesla drivers in the UK are the cleanest car owners. The survey involved 1,000 UK motorists aged 18 and above.

The study asked participants how often they clean their car’s exterior and interior and if they have ever felt embarrassed to give someone a ride due to their vehicle’s condition. Results showed that Tesla owners wash their cars an average of 130 times a year, equating to over two washes per week.

Interestingly, 27% of Tesla owners surveyed claimed they wash their cars daily. Honda and BMW owners followed, washing their cars 52 times per year, or about once a week. Mercedes, Toyota, and Audi owners washed their cars 21 times annually on average.

Most other car owners reported washing their cars 12 times per year, roughly once a month. The survey did not explore why Tesla owners are particularly diligent about cleanliness, but it is speculated that the advanced nature of Teslas may lead owners to maintain them like premium tech devices.
