The Bettering Company is expanding into New York, bringing cannabis edibles designed by chefs to dispensary shelves across the state. Dispensaries carrying the Chicago-based company’s marijuana treats include The Travel Agency (NYC), Housing Works (NYC), Flynnstoned (Syracuse) and more.

"The Bettering Company is the culmination of everything our team feels the cannabis industry is missing – real flavor, clear labels and, most of all, a consistent experience for consumers," stated Mark Cozzi, a co-founder and CEO of The Bettering Company. "I've spent many years living in New York and I'm excited to bring this product to a market that will truly appreciate the craftsmanship that has gone into it, and I'm especially excited we'll be giving back to organizations that are close to the company in the process."

Cozzi previously shared with Benzinga how the company attract food entrepreneur Peter Rahal, co-founder and ex-CEO at RxBar, to support its seed round. In just 16 months, this innovative marijuana edibles brand managed to secure $11 million in funding, despite challenging times for the industry.

The next step for the company is getting into the Empire State, where the cannabis market continues to face numerous challenges, including the proliferation of illegal shops, turnover in leadership and ongoing lawsuits, making it even more difficult to bring the market into the mainstream.

Launched in Illinois in the fall of 2023, The Bettering Company is raising the standards in the cannabis industry. It is sourcing fresh fruit, integrating bonafide chefs and delectable flavor profiles into every step of the process. Using special extraction methods and nano-emulsifying the THC infusions, The company prides itself on producing edibles with a quicker onset – within 20 minutes of consumption – than many others on the market.

"The Travel Agency values our partnership with brands that are built by high caliber people who make high-quality products, which is why we're excited to offer The Bettering Company to our customers and community," Jesse Tolz, VP of marketing of The Travel Agency said in a statement. "We're dedicated to helping our customers navigate their desired cannabis experiences, which is why we appreciate The Bettering Company's commitment to product innovation and accessible aesthetics."
