BYD announced on Weibo that it will debut the 2025 Song Plus DM-i and Song L DM-i SUV models on July 25, featuring the latest DM 5.0 hybrid system, reported CnEV Post.

The BYD brand’s model lineup includes the Dynasty and Ocean series, with the Song family spanning across both lineups.

The Song family models currently available in the Dynasty lineup are the all-electric Song L and the hybrid Song Pro DM-i. In the Ocean lineup, they include the Song Plus DM-i and Song Plus EV.

BYD launched its fifth-generation DM technology on May 28, boasting lower fuel consumption compared to its predecessor.

At that time, the company introduced the Seal 06 DM-i and Qin L DM-i hybrid sedans, the first models showcasing the fifth-generation DM technology, each offering a combined range exceeding 2,000 kilometers.

The report further noted that Song L DM-i and the refreshed Song Plus DM-i will mark BYD’s debut of DM 5.0 technology in SUVs, positioned within the Dynasty and Ocean series, respectively.

BYD released images and a video of the Song L DM-i, the hybrid variant of the Song L, two weeks ago. The all-electric Song L was launched for sale on December 15, 2023.

BYD revealed the exterior images of the 2025 Song Plus DM-i yesterday, followed by sharing its interior details today.

In June, BYD achieved a record 341,658 sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs), marking a 35.02% year-on-year increase and a 2.97% rise from May.

The Song family led sales with 70,219 units, retaining its top position among BYD models, CnEV Post added.
