Harris pointed to Pleasantrees’ connection to Michigan's White Boy Rick, that is Rick Wershe Jr., who was released in July 2020 after serving 33 years in federal prison. Harris said this connection is what made it "apparent to us that their views on social justice, education and community involvement aligned with how we approach the industry." This in addition to needing "great partners and others to recognize you belong in the game. Pleasantrees adds credibility to us, not just in Michigan but for other markets."

Not to mention that "Michigan is one of the largest cannabis markets in the country and for us to be part of it means a lot. First, you always want to compete against the best," Harris added.
