On Thursday, OpenAI announced that now users who don’t pay $20 for a ChatGPT Plus subscription can generate images using its DALL-E 3 model.
What Happened: Until now, the DALL-E 3 model was exclusively available to users who subscribed to ChatGPT Plus. However, according to OpenAI’s latest announcement, ChatGPT Free users can now create up to two daily images with DALL-E 3.

How To Generate Image Via DALL-E 3 On ChatGPT Free Version
Step I: Login to your free ChatGPT account and start a new chat.
Step II: Now give a prompt starting with the word “Generate” or “Create.”
Step III: Press enter and voila, the image will be generated.
We were able to create two images with the ChatGPT web version on MacBook before hitting OpenAI’s daily limit.
However, when ChatGPT-4o’s limit was over, we could not generate the image. Instead, we got the response, “I can’t generate images directly, but I can help you visualize or describe what an image of a cat and a lion might look like,” along with a detailed sketch of the image.

Why It Matters: On the same day, OpenAI also published a safety assessment of its GPT-4 model.
Researchers have classified GPT-4o as having a “medium” risk level. This rating is based on the highest risk level across four categories: cybersecurity, biological threats, persuasion, and model autonomy.
While most categories were deemed low risk, the persuasion category raised concerns, as some GPT-4o writing samples were found to be more effective at influencing readers’ opinions than human-written text.
The AI startup has also raised concerns about the potential for users to develop emotional reliance on its new ChatGPT voice mode, which closely mimics human speech patterns.
