Nutrisystem NTRI reported second-quarter net income of $12.6 million or $0.40 per share, compared to $8.8 million or $0.28 per share in the year ago period. This beat Wall Street EPS expectations of $0.35 per share.
Revenues were up 8% to $141.6 million compared to $131 million in the year ago period. This also came in ahead of analysts' expectations of $136.53 million.
Despite the better than expected results, the heavily shorted stock has fallen 7.15% to $20.66 in the late trading session.
