Mike Bloomberg just shook things up in a big way. The billionaire and ex-New York City mayor threw $10 million into the House Majority PAC, the main fund helping Democrats defend and flip seats in the House. This isn't pocket change. It's a serious boost for the Dems as they try to wrest control from the Republicans.

The House Majority PAC is all about protecting Democratic seats and snatching some from the Republicans. And Bloomberg's cash? That is exactly what they need to step up their game. Mike Smith, the PAC's president, shouted out Bloomberg. "We're deeply grateful for Mayor Mike Bloomberg's support," he said. Smith added that with Bloomberg's help, they're ready to push a working families agenda and aim for Speaker Hakeem Jeffries next year.
This isn't Bloomberg's first big move lately. Just last month, he tossed $20 million behind President Biden. But now that Biden's out and Kamala Harris is in, that money's getting redirected to back her run.
Bloomberg's been in this game for a while. Remember his 2020 presidential bid? It flopped after he burned through a whopping $1 billion of his cash. But instead of licking his wounds, he shifted gears. He handed over $18 million to the Democratic Party and pumped $100 million into ads to help Biden get to the White House. Bloomberg's all in to ensure the Democrats have the cash they need to win.

At 82, Bloomberg's still playing big. Forbes ranks him the 15th richest person in the world, with $106 billion in his pocket. His ongoing support is huge for the Democrats as they gear up for 2024.
But Bloomberg's not the only one with deep pockets. Conversely, conservative billionaire Timothy Mellon dropped a mind-blowing $50 million into a super PAC to get Trump back in the White House. The money war is on. Both sides are loading up for what's sure to be a wild election battle.
Since Biden stepped aside and Harris took the spotlight, Democratic donations have been pouring in. With Bloomberg's millions and a new wave of excitement among Democratic voters, the race for the House – and the White House – just got much more interesting. Buckle up. It's going to be a ride.
